Privacy policy · draft, effective on launch
What RIVO collects, and why.
Short version: swing data and video belong to the account that made them, we use them to show you your swings, and we don't sell them. The full text below is the policy.
What we collect
Account: your email address, used to sign you in (we send a one-time code; there is no password). Hitters: the names and birth years you add, so the box can use youth mode and attribute swings. Swings: the measurements for each swing and the short video clips recorded by the box's cameras. Device: the box's identifier and health (software version, last seen) so we can support it.
What we do with it
Show it to you in the app, keep it backed up to your account, and compute progress over time. Clips are stored so you can watch and share them. We use aggregate, de-identified swing data to improve the sensors. We do not sell personal data and we do not show ads.
Children's privacy
RIVO is used by families and teams, so many hitters are under 13. The account always belongs to an adult (a parent, guardian or coach). A child's profile is a name and a birth year added by that adult; children do not create accounts, do not enter email addresses, and are not contacted. Video of a child is stored under the adult's account and is only visible to that account and to anyone the adult links by code. A parent can delete a child's profile and every swing and clip under it at any time from the app, or by emailing us. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child directly. This section is written to meet the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA); if you believe we hold information about a child without a parent's consent, email privacy@rivosports.com and we will delete it.
Sharing
With you, with the people you link by code, and with the services that run RIVO (hosting and email delivery) under contracts that limit them to that job. Clip links you share yourself are visible to whoever has the link; revoke them from the app.
Retention and deletion
Your data stays as long as your account does. Delete a hitter, a swing or your whole account from the app; cloud copies are removed within 30 days. The box keeps a local copy of recent swings so it works offline; a factory reset clears it.
