Setup, pairing, and what the card is telling you.

Most questions are answered below. Anything else: hello@rivosports.com, a person answers.

Setup

First time

1

Place the box

Behind the hitter, facing the net, on the floor or a short tripod. Never in front of the hitter. The front must see the hitter, the tee and the net.

2

Power and pair

Plug in. Open the app, tap Set up a rig, scan the code on the box. On home Wi-Fi it joins your network; with no Wi-Fi it makes its own hotspot named RIVO. It sets itself up in seconds.

3

Add hitters

Add each person with their birth year; under 13 gets youth mode automatically. Tap the chip to switch who's up.

Reading the card

What the words mean

"Reading the flight"

The speed is in; the camera is still working out the angles. It usually resolves in a second or two. If it says "No launch read on this swing", the camera didn't get a clean look: more light, or the ball left the frame.

"~" before a number

An estimate, not a measurement. Shown when a sensor could only bound the value.

"Camera light: Marginal"

Dim room. Speeds still work; angles and youth swings get less reliable. Add light or use the infrared strobe.

Whiff vs hit

A swing with no ball off the tee is a whiff and still gets a card so the session count is honest. A foul tip is a hit with a low exit velo.

Trouble

When something's off

"Rig not found"

Phone and box must be on the same network. Tap the banner for the setup guide; the box's hotspot works anywhere.

Swings tagged to the wrong hitter

Open the swing and tap "Who hit that?" to move it. Future swings go to whoever's chip is highlighted.

No card after a swing

Tap "missed swing" right after. It's logged with the time so we can see what the sensors saw.

Wrong speed on a kid's ball

Make sure the hitter is in youth mode (birth year). Youth mode changes what the radar listens for.
